Robert Young was a California artist who presented views, in brilliant color, of the undersea. It was his love for the sea that inspired much of his work as an artist. Young attended U.C. Santa Barbara as an art major from 1956-1958, and then went on to finish at Los Angeles’ Otis Art Institute, graduating with an M.F.A. in 1962. As soon as he could, Young returned to Laguna, California. He began exhibiting his expressive depictions of undersea life in 1959 and for more than four and a half decades and never stopped painting his brilliant visions expressed with passion and power.
