The Daura Museum of Art in collaboration with Steven Francis Fine Art presents “Philip Geiger: Retrospective.”This exhibition features over forty paintings that span Philip Geiger’s accomplished and extensive career.
Philip Geiger taught at the University of Virginia for over thirty years. He earned his B.F.A. from Washington University and received his M.F.A. from Yale University. Geiger is a noted realist painter whose work has been reviewed by the New York Times, Art in America, ARTnews, and The New Criterion. He has exhibited at numerous galleries on both coasts, most notably Tibor de Nagy Gallery in New York City, and his work is in a number of prominent collections. His paintings have been described as having “lustrous light, loose brushwork, and subtle color” which “tellingly captures the nuances of mood and feeling that make up the more peaceful moments of contemporary family life.
